Liverpool had come out flat footed up until the 13th minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold passed it to the penalty spot with a wide open Diego Jota shooting it in the left corner away from Ederson's grasp making it 1-1. Gabriel Jesus lofted it over Alisson to make it 2-1 CIty and that's how it would finish going into the halftime break. One minute after halftime a pass from Salah to Mane gave Mane a 1 on 1 with Ederson and he gave a first time strike right into the right corner to equalize the match.
