I learned a lot about myself this term of creating a website. I also learned a little about why my voice matters. In terms of creating a website, it is so much more complicated than I expected. The technicalities of implementing a blog onto a website is something I had to look up and then implement. As well as uploading images to certain parts of the website. It took me a while, but eventually I got the hang of it, and it helped my website tremendously in terms of aesthetic. As for why my voice matters, I learned it matters because it can help educate people on a subject matter that they may not have looked at before. Specifically, when I did my leadership talk to the class and I asked them about a soccer article. It was something people in that class would probably never have looked into and it helped them understand it. I also learned why my voice mattered because I never really thought I could be a sportswriter even though I have loved soccer all my life. This class has really opened my eyes and has given me the confidence that I can be a writer about something I am passionate about. I also found my voice mattered because I would have my roommates ask me my opinion on certain soccer matches, they were betting on with real money, they never would have asked if they never read any of my soccer blog posts. All of this is thanks to this class I have taken, and I am tremendously grateful for it, it has enabled me to voice my own self and it is very empowering to feel. In conclusion creating a website has allowed me to find a way to voice my passion and made me feel as if my voice mattered beyond just soccer.
I love that you have found a sense of authority in a niche you care deeply about.
